World Architecture Festival (WAF), the largest and most prestigious global live award event for architects and designers, has recently come to a successful conclusion. During the Festival, Studio Founder Daniel Statham received the “2023 RIBA China Urban Landmark 100” award as representative of all winners at the gala dinner. Daniel and Studio Partner Annie Feng Statham were also invited as guest speakers to two round table discussions on “Sustainable Urban Futures: 2023 RIBA China Urban Landmark 100 Award Forum” organised by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) at the main stage.
After winning five international awards, PeaceBird Fashion Park, Ningbo’s landmark building designed by Daniel Statham Studio, has been selected as one of the “2023 RIBA China City Landmark 100.“ At the World Architecture Festival Gala Dinner, Studio Founder Daniel Statham was presented with the trophy by Paul Hyett, former RIBA President and co-founder of WAF, celebrating the honour with architects from around the globe.
On the afternoon of 30th November, the opening ceremony of “Sustainable Urban Future” 2023 RIBA China Urban Landmark 100 Forum was held at main stage of WAF. Studio Founder Daniel Statham was invited to attend the panel discussion on “the Diversity of China’s Urban Landmarks,” analysing the diversity of urban landmarks through the lens of architectural function and spatial experience, while sharing how architects view the diversity of urban landmarks and how the concept of diversity is weaved into his design approach.
As the only female guest speaker at the event, Studio Partner Annie Feng Statham was invited to attend the “Urban Landmark Development in Asia” round table discussion on 1st December, reviewing the development of urban landmarks in Asia and sharing her practical experience and her expectations for the future.
