Last week in Chongqing, Daniel Statham Studio concluded a significant mission at the 8th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT), representing the UK at the Country of Honour Pavilion.

On the opening day, Studio Founder Daniel Statham delivered a keynote at the “UK-China Urban Regeneration Seminar,” hosted by the British Consulate General Chongqing and supported by the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Daniel presented MedAI Chongqing – a benchmark AI-driven healthcare project under construction that blends medical, wellness, and lifestyle sectors. He shared how the project upgrades existing senior care infrastructure and how the Studio continues to serve as a vital force to bridge British design and Chinese market.

At the UK-China (Chongqing) Growth Exchange Forum, the Studio signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Chongqing TWXK Health Technology Co., Ltd., witnessed by HM Trade Commissioner Lewis Neal, CBBC Chief Executive Peter Burnett, Consul-General Chongqing Anthony Preston, and leadership from the Chongqing Government.

Ms. YANG Zihan, Deputy Chairman of TWKX, shared with the audience that “after a long search for a like-minded partner aligned in quality and design vision, we ultimately chose Daniel Statham Studio from the UK.” This partnership aims to deepen UK-China collaboration in AI-driven smart healthcare and medical living communities, reshaping the future of elderly care.

“We are grateful to be part of the development of the city,” Daniel told China Central Television. “A big thank you to the Department for Business and Trade, and we were also honoured to welcome UK and Chongqing municipal leaders to our Pavilion for discussions on the future of innovative architecture and design in Western China.”
