Nestled within the celebrated expanse of Huqiu Wetland, the Suzhou Global Science Park emerges as a pioneering global destination where the frontiers of science IPs, themed entertainment, and ecological protection converge.
Conceived as a new paradigm for experiential education, the park transforms 4 trajectories of future human into a vibrant tapestry of 4 immersive worlds – “Future Space,” “Sustainable Earth,” “Cyber Universe,” and “Life.” Targeting both domestic and international families and youth, the park will strategically expand its reach to international research, business, and governmental groups, establishing itself as a nexus for global scientific dialogue and cultural exchange.
分阶段向西扩展。
The 873-hectare masterplan sensitively integrates ecological and urban contexts through North-South connectivity preserving the Xitang River corridor, and East-West expansion leveraging mature conditions. Organized into 12 walkable “circles” on an 800-meter grid, the site balances high-intensity experiential hubs with ecological buffers. Phased across three development districts, the strategy protects wetland carrying capacity while achieving immediate impact and long-term vision.
Suzhou Global Science Park is constituted by 4 themed zones, each of which is propelled by an ecosystem of “1 Core Science IP Program + Key Flagship Projects + Supporting Rides, Exhibitions, and Amenities.” The park’s architecture is defined by a coherent and scalable prototype system. Derived from a singular formal logic, structures can be adapted in number and configuration to suit different phases and functions, ensuring economic efficiency and design unity.
A layered, modern envelope of steel, glass, and metal cladding creates a landmark silhouette. Core cylinders sculpt interiors, integrating landscape, sustainable technologies, and public amenities for exhibition, recreation, and dining within an eco-friendly environment.
Future Space, as the inaugural development cluster, stands as the highest priority of Suzhou Global Science Park. The inaugural 170m China Space Station core offers interactive aerospace experiences—aviation operation, astronaut training, zero-gravity simulations. Complemented by a Ferris Wheel with revolving restaurant and free-fall tower, it becomes the park’s tallest landmark and iconic nightscape feature.
Earth Centre in Sustainable Earth zone showcases global climate solutions and ESG achievements for visitors and international delegations. Enterprise Contribution Island displays zero-carbon innovations, complemented by interactive workshops, hydrodynamics park, and land art—creating a zone dedicated to planetary stewardship.
In collaboration with Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Agricultural Research Institute and Seed Museum highlight biodiversity and space breeding for the Cyber Universe zone. The zone features immersive virtual theatres for Chinese anime IPs and venues for international robotics competitions.
Enhancing water-themed experiences in the Life zone, the 21m-tall Tropical Biome greenhouse offers night garden tours. The existing redwood forest integrates space-themed rides, water sports, and intangible cultural heritage water carnival—celebrating Suzhou’s local culture within the wetland environment.
“Suzhou Global Science Park is thus more than a destination; it grows, creates, activates, and inspires; it is where curiosity for scientific exploration is ignited, global environmental and climate challenges are explored, the world’s and the region’s most cutting-edge scientific innovations are showcased, and the future is experienced. All is within the serene and timeless embrace of one of Suzhou’s most cherished natural landscapes.” Daniel Statham, Studio Founder & Director
