Senior Architect (Shanghai)

Requirement:

  • A globally minded individual with a passion for creativity and a positive, proactive attitude.
  • A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in architecture or design (or equivalent/higher qualification).
  • A minimum of 8–10 years of post-qualification experience in a leading local or international architecture firm.
  • Strong experience as a senior architect or project architect across at least three different project sectors (e.g., cultural, mixed-use, office – please specify your role and scope of work in your portfolio).
  • A clear communicator who combines outstanding aesthetic design sensitivity with strong technical knowledge and managerial experience.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Extensive expertise in technical drawing stage, architectural detailing, and building systems and materials with knowledge in practice and industry standards and codes.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software, including:
    • BIM (Revit – please state your proficiency level, e.g., 300, 500);
    • Rhino, Grasshopper, 3ds Max, etc. (please describe your skill level for each).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (please specify in your portfolio if drawings were fully developed by you; otherwise, state your level of participation).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator are required; After Effects and Premiere are a plus).
  • Experience in visualization and rendering, with skills in software such as Twinmotion.
  • Excellent verbal and written English; fluency in Mandarin Chinese is preferred.

 

Responsibility:

  • Actively participate in projects from conceptual to technical development.
  • Develop concept designs under the guidance of studio leadership when required.
  • Effectively facilitate, communicate, and monitor project work plans, deliverables, schedules, and quality – both internally (with project teams and leadership) and externally (with clients and consultants).
  • Oversee day-to-day project delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines and deliverables.
  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of building materials, systems, specifications, codes, detailing, and construction techniques.
  • Lead and mentor junior team members in daily design tasks.
  • Exhibit design initiative, process innovation, problem-solving, and decision-making with high precision and accuracy.
  • Manage project timelines and workload distribution for yourself and team members to meet deadlines, while maintaining regular communication with studio leadership.
  • Proactively review and coordinate project documents, including drawing sets, design details, dimensions, interdisciplinary coordination, and specifications, ensuring compliance with technical requirements.

Junior Architect (Shanghai)

Requirement:

  • Manage project timelines and workloads for yourself and team members to meet deadlines while maintaining regular communication with project leadership.
  • Proactively review and coordinate project documents, including drawing sets, design details, dimensions, interdisciplinary coordination, and specifications, ensuring compliance with technical requirements.

Architect Intern (Shanghai)

Requirement:

  • Second year or higher of Master’s Program in architecture or design.
  • Experience in various project stages including drawing production, design deliverable, physical model making, and render production.
  • Proficiency in both 3D modeling and 2D drawing production (please specify your skill level for each software in your application).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator required; After Effects and Premiere are a plus).
  • Experience in visualization and rendering, with skills in software such as Twinmotion.
  • Experience in AI and 3D printing is preferred.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal); proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a plus.

 

Responsibility:

  • Complete a 3-month internship at our Shanghai studio.
  • Participate actively in the design process, contributing to drawings, presentations, and physical models.
  • Develop rendering, digital modeling, and physical model-building skills.
  • Assist studio and project leadership with client and consultant communications.
  • Foster collaboration across all disciplines with both design and administrative team members.
  • Acquire knowledge of building systems, codes, and design principles.
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation.
  • Provide support to design leadership as needed.
